Stairs are where flooring gets hard. Every tread and riser is a separate cut, the nosings have to line up, and there is nowhere to hide a mistake because you walk past it at eye level every day.
We wrap staircases in timber and hybrid to match the floor running through the rest of the house, and we lay carpeted stairs and runners.

Yes. That is the point of wrapping. Same board, matching nosings, so the floor reads as one continuous surface.
Are stairs expensive?
Per square metre, yes, because every tread and riser is hand cut and fitted. We price them separately so you can see exactly what that part of the job costs.
