Subfloor preparation and levelling
Almost every flooring complaint traces back to the subfloor. Hollow spots, creaks, lifting edges, planks that separate after a summer. The floor gets blamed, but the preparation underneath it is usually the culprit.
We assess the subfloor before we quote, not after we have started, and the preparation is part of the quoted job rather than something we hope will be alright on the day.
If you have a quote from someone else that does not mention the subfloor at all, that is worth asking about.

Why does my floor need levelling?
Floating floors need a flat base or they flex, creak and eventually fail at the joins. Vinyl telegraphs every bump straight through to the surface. Levelling is what stops both.
